John DeGoede established DeGoede Greenhouses in 1968. After immigrating to the US in 1955, John worked in the early flower bulb industry of Skagit Valley. He and his brother became one of the first bulb growing pioneers in the Skagit Valley. In 1966, John moved his family to the fertile Puyallup Valley and brought his passion for Tulips to the greenhouse business. He was one of the first growers to "force" Greenhouse Cut Tulips west of the Mississippi. John's sons Ben, Phil and Paul established their own partnership, DeGoede Brothers, LLC in 1980.
In 1992, John retired and his sons have continued to run the successful wholesale and retail business. 2018 marks 50 years of serving our customers.
The philosophy of DeGoede Brothers has always been "customer service and satisfaction". We are a grower of the highest quality plants and our goal is to ship only the best. We are proud of our close relationship with our customers and strive to offer the best service possible.
Phil DeGoede, Partner, General Manager
Phil has been involved in the business his entire life and knew it was his calling at an early age. He and his twin brother, Paul, run the wholesale division. Phil is responsible for overall operations of DeGoede Brothers. Phil is very involved in sales, operations, human relations and customer service. Phil has been happily married for 25+ years and has 3 children. In his spare time, he loves to golf, hike and is an avid sports fan.
Paul DeGoede, Partner, Operations Manager
Paul has also been involved in the business since he was a toddler. Paul oversees operations and maintenance of DeGoede Brothers. He is known as "MacGyver" around the farm and loves to create and fix things. He is always dreaming up new and different ways to fix or build it. Paul is happily married and has . wonderful sons. He loves to ski, fish and travel in his spare time.
Tom McKeegan, Production Manager
Tom has been with DeGoede Bothers since 2000 and is well known and respected in the nursery industry. DeGoede Brothers is lucky to have him! Tom grew up in the Chicago area and has had many jobs within the industry. This has given him the knowledge to bring those experiences to DeGoede Brothers. Tom is our head grower and handles the planning and production of all the crops at both the wholesale and retail division of DeGoede Brothers. Tom enjoys attending sporting events and traveling.
Meka Foster, Propagation & Planting Barn Manager/Lead Grower
Meka started at DeGoede Bothers in March of 2004 and has been a grower since 1994. She started as the lead grower at our home range and moved to the farm range in 2007. In 2008 we expanded our Propagation Department and she was instrumental in that. Meka is on the board of the Flower Growers of Puget Sound and is very passionate about her job. She is married with a young daughter and loves hiking, shopping and spending time with her family.
Kathy Anderson, Grower/Operations Supervisor and H/R
Kathy has been with DeGoede Brothers for over 30 years! She is proud to be the employee with the longest tenure. Kathy is our expert fuchsia grower and nobody can speak "fuchsia" like her. She is an active member of the safety committee and is known as the "Queen Bee" here at DeGoede's. She has been married for 36+ years, has 3 lovely children and 6 grandchildren. Kathy loves camping, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

DeGoede Brothers is extremely fortunate to have so many staff members who have been with us for a long time. We have a lot of tenure, which speaks to what a wonderful place it is to work.
