This sturdy-stemmed hyacinth has large blue flowers which are very fragrant. The blue star hyacinth looks great in containers and beds and will not be bothered by deer or rodents! Hyacinth bulbs bloom in the spring and are a must have for any garden.
The best time to plant hyacinths is fall, 6 to 8 weeks before hard frost is expected. Plant the bulbs 6" deep and 4" to 6" apart. Plant in well draining soil and keep watered during dry spells. After they bloom in spring, allow the plants to grow until the leaves die off. This gives them time to store energy in the bulb for next year.
