Brightly colored foliage and varied foliage shapes makes coleus a standout variety in the landscape. Coleus is actually a tender perennial in the mint family that can be brought indoors in the winter, or grown as a houseplant. Use in underplantings, borders, or containers.
Plant in well drained soil. Water regularly. Keep soil surface moist but not soggy. Fertilize once every two weeks. Small, insignificant blooms may appear in late summer. Pinch off blooms to encourage vegetative growth.
