Days To Maturity: 80 days
Although the vines of 'Bush Early Girl' are bushy and compact, there is nothing small about the yield of this hybrid. It has larger fruits (up to 4") compared to 'Early Girl' and they color up to a nice deep red. Plants are resistant to Verticillium Wilt, Fusarium Wilt (Races 1 and 2), nematodes, and Tobacco Mosaic Virus.
Early Girl bears lots of fruit for early harvest, but because the vines are indeterminate, they continue producing through summer.
Early Girls will do well in cultivated, nutritious soil. Slightly acidic is best, but not important – they will thrive in 6.5-7.5 pH. Rich soil is important to this variety as its fast growth comes at the cost of high nutritive use. The speed at which these plants grow will often mean that fertilization does not happen during their production span.
