This richly hued tomato is thought to have first been grown by the Native American Cherokee tribe in Tennessee. As a winner of many taste tests, Cherokee Purple is a large slicer that, when cut open, reveals a rich red interior. Perfect for sandwiches, salads, and platters. Plant grows well in most areas of the U.S. Stake or cage vines for support.
If the soil is dry, water gently but thoroughly from above or set the pot in a saucer of water for an hour or so -- just long enough for the soil in the pot to become thoroughly moist, but not soggy.
