First Love tulips present a striking contrast with bright yellow pedals and red veritcal stripes. These have a compact habit and the sturdy stems make for excellent cut flowers.
Tulip bulbs are planted in the fall for spring blooms. Be sure to plant your tulips 6 inches deep with 4"-6" spacing in a mostly sunny location with good drainage. They will tolerate some shade but do best in full sun. Tulips do not like to be kept moist so do not overwater. When foliage first emerges in the spring fertilize with a general low nitrogen fertilizer.
