Also called Checkered Lillies, they are winsome and charming, with bell-shaped blooms in shades of purple and white, marked with a faint checkerboard pattern. They bloom from April to May.
Native to Europe, these bulbs need partial shade and abundant moisture. Plant bulbs 3" deep and space 4-5" apart in fall. Foliage should be allowed to die back naturally as the bulb goes dormat (by late spring).
